The Asus EeePC 1008HA is a great, small, reasonably powerful computer for those who need to be on the road… and don’t need something with extraordinary power.
Plusses:
- Small, lightweight, and extraordinarily practical
- Extraordinarily powerful machine given its size
Minuses:
- Touchpad failed only after one month on-the-road, requiring me to buy a mouse and then return the computer to get fixed;
- Battery does not last as long as it is billed (e.g., 3.5 hours rather than 6 hours)
All in all, I would buy one again, though be aware that because of its size it may be prone to some mechanical failures.

Eee PC 1008HA is really beautiful and light. So i highly recommend it to girls. But the battery lasts around 4.5 hours, which is not long enough for me.

After a disappointing purchase of Acer Netbook, I bought this netbook with little hesitancy, but now that I have used it for 6 months I can write a review to say this is indeed a great product. It’s very slim and yet quite sturdy (has survived 1 or 2 accidental drops). I used it now almost daily for all my internet surfing.

I bought this for my husband and we both love using it around the house and taking it on trips. I love that it has bluetooth. Printing from his laptop was such a pain because it didn’t have bluetooth-definitely a feature to look for, especially if you have a bluetooth printer. The battery lasts ~5-6 hours, or less if it’s been sitting around unplugged for awhile, but I don’t really need a computer for longer than a couple of hours at a time when I’m somewhere without a plug. Even if you go to a coffee shop or library, you can usually wait around for an hour or so and someone near an outlet will move. I guess it might not be ideal for long flights if you were planning to work the whole time. In my opinion, the only thing that could make it better was if it was a Mac, but I can bear a PC for the added convenience and the fact that it was SO cheap.

I had to travel overseas so I bought this netbook instead of my laptop to stay in touch. It worked great. The Wifi was fine, as was the webcam that was built in. It was surprisingly light, booted up quickly. my only complaint is that the screen resolution was limited (as is most netbooks) to 1024×600, which meant I had to scroll up and down with certain programs and when I was surfing the web to see the bottom of the screen. Hooking up the netbook an ethernet cable is a little awkward, but otherwise, I loved this netbook.
